These pencils might be just the right size for a child's hand, but Crayola evidently forgot that they have a lot of adult customers as well. These little pencils are half the size of a typical colored pencil. The built-in sharpener makes them even smaller... like they weren't little enough.

Because of the sharpening, they probably don't leave much color on the paper and cost more. If you want to obtain a better result for your money, you might as well buy better colored pencils and a sharpener separately. They seem to have made them shorter only to fit the sharpener, which people could do without.
