Here's How To Succeed At College Dating

5. Be Respectful Of The Time Each Of You Has Set Aside

There are a lot of good and bad things about college. There will be times during the year when it feels like you're floating down Easy Street. You don't have many responsibilities, and the classes are easy and basic. Use that time to hang out and have fun with each other. There will be times when it seems like you don't have time to breathe. Your partner won't be able to see you as much during that period, and they need to be alright with it. If they have a lot of tasks and midterms to do, don't become mad at them for not spending enough time with you. Like you, they need their own place.

6. Be Respectful Towards Your Partner's Friendships

Even if you and your spouse are just starting to date, you can still spend time with friends. If you both have diverse sets of friends, this advice is even more important. People often just want to hang out with their pals, and that's fine. Don't take it personally right away. Also, don't be sad if your partner's buddies don't fall in love with you right away. It could take some time and effort for them to bond with their friends and fit in with a new group. Just be patient and, most importantly, be yourself, and it will happen.
