Here's How To Succeed At College Dating
7. Don't Dismiss Your Partner's Views
8. Prioritize Your College Experience
You can think that being in a new relationship is the most exciting thing in the world, but don't forget why you came to college in the first place. You need to pay attention to more than just your connections. You also need to pay attention to your grades and other activities that will help you grow your résumé and skills. Don't make dating in college your first priority. If someone is giving you a hard time about studying or working "too much," they might not be the best person for you to date right now. When you genuinely adore someone, it's hard to say "thanks, but no thanks." But sometimes it's the greatest thing you can do for your future.
9. Be Realistic About Dating
Movies and TV tend to show courting as a series of trips to nice restaurants followed by amazing entertainment. Sorry to break it to you, but this is college. People who are working will only be able to work part-time, so $300 meals at fancy restaurants are absolutely not on the list of things to do. When dating, it's important to have reasonable expectations and enjoy the time you spend together. Going on a walk around campus or getting a coffee or beer together at one of the student pubs are better ways to spend time together that don't cost a lot of money. It's cheap, entertaining, and most importantly, it provides you both an opportunity to spend some quality time together between classes and other things you have to do.
