Seeing a dog riding the subway alone every day, an inquisitive passenger tracked him.

The Department of Public Transport had already been informed about the dog that was straying about. Aylin Erol, the Istanbul Metro's customer relations manager, said that the dog attracted their attention a few months ago and that they have been monitoring him for a good period of time. Erol and his associates did not really intervene since they could identify the dog's special traits. Rather, they started merely tracking his motions and watching him. After a few weeks, however, they wanted to make sure he was fit enough to live in such close quarters with their other guests.

This was done in an attempt to better grasp the dog's path and the reasons he was using the train initially. Metro staff members would share stories of where they had spotted the dog on specific days. They came to see he seemed to have no clear destination in mind. He liked traveling, to start with.
