Used Cars That Mechanics Say Aren’t Worth the Money

40. Vanguard CitiCar - $655

Sebring-Vanguard's electric automobile was one of the last items the company made before it went out of business. The corporation took a big chance by expecting that customers would buy the little, wedge-shaped electric car even though there was an oil crisis going on. This risk is probably what cost the company in the end. The car was not only little and useless, but it also went very slowly, with a top speed of 39 mph. The two-door, two-seater was only 1,303 pounds and five feet tall. Even though the design was strange and not well-liked at the time, it still exists.

The Norwegian Kewet was a spiritual successor to the Citicar design. Vanguard took a chance on the Citicar design, but it seems that the world wasn't ready for it.

39. Ford Pinto - $1,850

The Ford Pinto is very well-known for being a terrible used automobile. It even had its own episode on Worst automobile Ever. Mechanics say that consumers should keep away from these autos since they often catch fire. The Pinto was designed and made in a hurry, and it was full of problems. The gasoline tank was weak and could leak and catch fire if it was hit. The Pinto led to more than 100 lawsuits against Ford. The habit of making any small bump or mishap worse caused a lot of injuries and even some deaths.
