Used Cars That Mechanics Say Aren’t Worth the Money

18. GMC Canyon - $22,200

The Canyon has seen a few different versions and modifications since the initial one was released in 2004. But a lot of vehicle magazines and news sites say the car's design, construction, and mechanical problems are bad. For a long time, it has had problems that make it unimpressive, hazardous, and unreliable. The earliest generations, in particular, had a lot of problems with their brakes, steering, and electrical systems. Later versions would still have same problems, but they would also have leaks and broken "Check Engine" lights.

Many people don't like the Canyon since it's so unpredictable and unreliable. It has been in production for decades, but it still has the same problems that should have been fixed.

17. Plymouth Fury - $23,100

The Steven King book Christine was about the Plymouth Fury, which was also in the John Carpenter movie adaptation. The car's fame may not have been well-deserved, since mechanics hated it even if it was popular from the novel and movie. The Curbside Classic called it one of the "most cartoonish" automotive designs on the road at the time. Like the Seville of the period, the Fury had a lot of problems with quality control that made it less popular. These problems may have damaged the Fury the most because the automobile was pushed through manufacture even though it was famous. It wasn't very easy to drive, and the engine had a lot of problems with stalling.
