Used Cars That Mechanics Say Aren’t Worth the Money

12. Fiat 600 Multipla Marinella - $32,000

The Marinella is a different version of the very ugly Multipla. It didn't do much better in terms of design than its cousins, and it was made fun of less since it wasn't as well-known. The 600T, as it was also called, had a 6.3-liter 4-cylinder engine in the back that was easily destroyed by even the smallest bumps. It was also open and could only go as fast as the fifty, which made it useless in a lot of situations.

It was also very light because of the open form, but it could roll. The wooden slat bench in the back was also very unpleasant during automobile rides.

11. Renault Avantime - $38,800

The same person who designed the Ford Sierra also designed the Avantime, which means "ahead of its time" in French. The Sierra became very popular, while the Avantime was far less so. Most of the time, this is because of its unusual look, which was long, smooth, and not very appealing to people. Originally, it was only meant to be a concept automobile, not one that would actually go into production. It failed because it went into production without any major revisions. It was a commercial disaster because it only sold about 9000 copies throughout its two-year production cycle from 2001.
