Used Cars That Mechanics Say Aren’t Worth the Money

32. AMC Pacer - $3,599

Ford called the Edsel the "car of the future," but it didn't sell well. The price was the key selling factor, and the fact that it was expensive to make made people think it was of high quality. But consumers quickly found several problems with it. The car was pricey, badly constructed, and not well-timed. People thought the design was unattractive. It only made cars for two years, which isn't very long for a "car of the future."

Most individuals didn't get the car because it cost so much. People who could afford it chose a better car for the same price. Taking inflation into account, it cost Ford $250 million to make the Edsel.

31. Reliant Robin - $4,616

The Reliant Robin was a car made by Reliant Motor Co. in Tamworth, England. It was one of the more interesting models on the list. These three-wheeled cars have been around for three generations, were sold for more than thirty years, and are now collectible novelty items. It was the second most popular fiberglass automobile of the time and was thought to be a best-seller when it was being made. But do mechanics say to keep away from it? There was a big safety problem with the Reliant Robin. The car wasn't very stable because it had three wheels, and a strong wind could have easily sent it rolling. Jeremy Clarkson did a great job on Top Gear of showing that this car is not safe.
